Map & Compass: Beginner Orienteering Class MARCH 2026

REGISTER AT REI.COM. Look for the classes under OUTDOOR SKILLS taught at the REI in Winter Park, FL. If shown as FULL, add your name to the waitlist and come anyway, we will be there and there are no-shows so space will be available.

Florida Orienteering volunteers teach the class as outreach to the community who have an interest in navigation utilizing a map and compass.

This class is an intro to the sport:
How to read/use a map
intro to some map & compass navigational techniques
Setting a compass bearing, and
Info about gear & technology during events.

The class is in a classroom setting and sample compasses are available to use, or bring your own.
