In 2026, WAID proudly celebrates 250 Years of American Independence by bringing our community together for Stars, Stripes & Small-Town Nights — a joyful, family-centered celebration honoring our nation’s history, our local heritage, and the spirit that unites us.
Our mission is to:
Celebrate the enduring values of freedom, service, and community
Create safe, inclusive, and family-friendly experiences for all ages
Support local businesses, artists, and organizations
Foster civic pride and small-town connection
Inspire the next generation to honor and shape our shared future
Through fireworks, music, food, and fellowship at Riverbend Park, WAID 2026 will commemorate 250 years of independence while strengthening the bonds that make Winston a place we’re proud to call home.
