"I would challenge you to a battle of wits, but I see you are unarmed,” William Shakespeare - The Taming of the Shrew

Shakespeare had a deep understanding of how people behave and think. His wit and humor come out in his characters’ observations about the world and each other. Campers will incorporate voice, movement, and acting as they explore Shakespeare.

Director: Eppie Jo Torres
Eppie Jo Torres will be returning to The Little Theatre of Winston-Salem's team as a Camp Director. She is a recent graduate of UNCG with a Bachelor's Degree in Arts Administration and works with Shared Radiance Performing Arts Company, leading their teen outreach program. Most recently, Eppie Jo directed Macbeth through a teen Shakespeare program at the Stephen D. Hyers theater in downtown Greensboro (Creative Greensboro). Her previous production credits include Technical Director for The Tempest (Shared Radiance) and Stage Manager for The Underpants (The Little Theatre of Winston Salem).

Outside of theatre, Eppie Jo also runs a photography and video production company, Zinnia Garden Productions. Eppie Jo strives to spread the enriching and inspirational power of the arts through her work in film, photography, and nonprofit theatre, and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to work directly with young people to nurture their skills within the arts.

CAMP POLICIES
.
GENERAL
Each of our summer camps focus on enabling campers to experience the fun, excitement, and challenge of performing live theatre while developing their own talents, strengths and skills. The Little Theatre accepts all children, regardless of their level of ability or experience. Campers will learn stage blocking, lines and music (as applicable), as well as a variety of theatre elements, including character development, voice and diction, costumes, stage movement, and production etiquette.
Before Care will run 8:30am-9:30am; After Care will run 4:30pm-5:30pm.

WHAT TO KNOW
•Dress in comfortable clothes that are easy to move around in.
•Bring a water bottle, snack, and lunch.
•DO NOT bring video games, laptops, or tablets.
•Cell phones are allowed to be used for emergencies only.
•Cell phones may be confiscated if used during camp time.

TO REGISTER

Need Based, sliding scale scholarships are available. Email for details.

PAYMENT AND REFUND POLICY
Tuition must be paid in full at least one week prior to the start of camp for your child to attend. In the event that The Little Theatre cancels a camp, a full tuition refund will be made.
If a student withdraws from camp up to a month prior to the camp start date, they will receive a full refund. If a month to two week before they will receive 50%; no refunds will be made after that.

Needs based scholarships are available on a first come-first served basis.
