"description": "\"Punk Grandpa\" was developed with Arlene Malinowski at Chicago Dramatists, back in 2012-2013. An excerpt was performed at The Saturday Series. It was workshopped at Urban Village Church as well and premiered at The 2013 Chicago Fringe Festival. Since then, it has been performed numerous times throughout Chicagoland. \"Punk Grandpa\" began as a one person show. The first time it was performed as a multiple character production was at Three Brothers Theatre in Waukegan, Illinois. It has since been performed in NYC twice (as a one person show at The 2015 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity and with multiple characters at The 2016 FRIGID Festival). It has also been performed internationally: at The Adelaide FringeVIEW, as a reading with England's Under the Headstocks and a scene was read with Canada's Sing for your Supper online. If you are interested in a complete \"Punk Grandpa\" production history, feel free to refer to my attached resume.\n\"Punk Grandpa\" has won several awards. At 2016 FRIGID NYC, it received the Sold Out and Hangover (one of the top selling shows in the venue, so it received an additional performance) Awards. At the 2015 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity in NYC, it won The Outstanding Performance in a Solo Show Award and I also won the Congeniality Award. \"Punk Grandpa\" was a Quarterfinalist for the 2020 Screencraft Stage Play Contest as well."
