When Connecticut Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas visited AMP for the first time this summer, we got to talking about how we can use the power of art to AMPlify a project close to her heart: The Power of Civics.  As voting day fast approaches and primaries are behind us, we discussed how to repurpose old lawn signs to encourage people to get out and vote. AMP is taking past signs, priming them, and inviting kids to paint them with messages encouraging voter participation in advance of the midterm elections. We’re excited to teach kids the importance of democratic participation through their creativity. The result: cool new works of art that get adults to the polls. We provide the lawn signs—kids provide the inspiration!FREE admission.
