Yoni steaming, also known as vaginal steaming, is an ancient practice rooted in traditional medicine systems across Africa, Asia, and Central America. Women have used herbal steam to cleanse and revitalize the uterus, support postpartum recovery, and maintain menstrual health. Typically, herbs like mugwort, sage, and rose are steeped in hot water, and the steam is directed toward the vaginal area. Advocates claim it helps balance hormones, reduce menstrual discomfort, and promote relaxation. While scientific evidence is limited, many women report emotional and physical benefits. Today, yoni steaming is part of holistic wellness routines focused on self-care and reproductive health.
In this session, you’ll begin with singing together a simple morning mantra, and will end with a light meditation. You’ll wear a long skirt and/or a sheet wrapped around the waist and squat over a bowl of steaming yoni tea, homegrown, and hand harvested, for 15 to 45 minutes. There will be blankets and cushions to support you in the squatting position. Everyone will be positioned around an open futon where you can lean onto the surface for support.
