- **Event Description**: Screen-Free Sundays is the first Sunday of the month April through August 2026. This family program is an opportunity for children ages 6-12 and their families to explore the Victorian era through hands-on crafts and activities. Each month, dive into a different theme and enjoy a modern take on old-fashioned and analog activities.

No children without an adult, no adults without a child. Children must be supervised at all times. Recommended for children ages 6-12.

April 5
Learn about how the Victorians used to dye their Easter eggs using ingredients from their kitchens. In this activity you will get a history lesson all about dying Easter eggs, get to visit the kitchen in the historic house, and get to dye your very own Easter egg to take home.

May 3
In May, we will learn about floriography, the language of flowers, by decoding bouquets placed throughout the historic house, and then we will make our own flowers out of recycled materials.

June 7
In June, you will get to go on a bug hunt in the gardens at Dalnavert. After a refreshing glass of lemonade, we will move into the Visitors' Centre and make a craft inspired by the insect displays of the Victorian era. (Please note that this craft will not include the use of real bugs!!)

July 5
The internet may be rumored to be the 21st century stained glass window, but the beauty of digital is not the same as the physical beauty! Come and join us here at Dalnavert Museum for a discussion and craft. We will go over a brief history of stained glass during a tour of our historic house before moving into the Visitors’ Centre for a stained glass inspired craft.
