Sunday, May 6/18, marks the 13th Girls! Girls! Girls! Gala Fundraiser in support of the Gas Station Arts Centre. This year’s theme is aptly named, Superstition, being year 13, and promises to be an exciting evening of visual art and performance in celebration of Winnipeg’s talented female artists: Sunday May 6th, Art Exhibition at 6:00 pm, Gala Cabaret at 7:00 pm, Tickets $25.
Girls! Girls! Girls! 13-Superstition promises a jam-packed evening of contemporary dance, sketch comedy, theatrical monologue, music, aerial performance, clowning, stand-up comedy, spoken word, and more! We are excited to include in our line-up some talented new performers: contortionist Emily McDougall, WOKE Comedy Collective featuring comedian Elissa Kixen, and the Red Sisterhood Singers led by Sara Clefstad (director of CBC MB Sings on Up to Speed with Ismaila Alfa). Hosted by Carol Ann Bohrn, the evening will also feature returning favourites including Buffalo Gals, The Talentless Lumps, Gearshifting Performance Works, and a short film by Amanda Kindzierski.
Our exhibit of original artwork consists of 69 enticing pieces by talented local emerging and established artists, including mixed media, photography, jewelry, paintings, and sculpture. All pieces are 12” x 12” and will be priced at $100 or less, ensuring that attendees have the opportunity to own original artwork by a talented local artist.
