Silk, renowned for its shimmery appearance and texture, has long been a marker of luxury. In the last Language of Dalnavert lecture of 2025, get up close and personal with silk from Dalnavert’s collection and explore the history of this luxurious natural fibre.

The Language of Dalnavert: An Insider’s Perspective of the House and the Victorians is a lecture series with our Collections Registrar, Inés Bonacossa. Each month, Inés will share her insight into different aspects of Dalnavert’s collection and Victorian culture.
