The Lake Barkley Beekeepers Association presents the 30th anniversary of the Kent Williams Bee School held April 23rd, 24th, and 25th, 2026. The location is The Williams Farm at 580 State Route 385 North, Wingo, KY. Activities begin at 9 am each morning and end about 4 pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend to learn basic and advanced beekeeping skills!
Join EAS Certified Master Beekeeper Kent Williams and members of the Lake Barkley Beekeepers Association for hands-on instruction in the bee yard. Classes each day include:
Basic Hive Inspection
Equipment Basics
Making Splits
Pest & Varroa Management
Basic & Advanced Queen Rearing
Swarm Trapping
Other topics may be added based on the availability of presenters.
No cost to attend and No sign-up necessary. Just Show Up! Lunch is provided by the LBBA. Donations welcomed.
The event is held 100% outdoors, rain-or-shine, please plan accordingly. Classes are moved inside in the event of weather. Bringing a folding chair is a good idea.
The class schedule is the same for each day. You are welcome to come for one day or all three days if you wish. Bring your protective gear as several classes are held in the bee yard. Veils are required in the bee yard.
