Sunday @ Asbury Chapel
November 30th is the first Sunday of Advent when we celebrate to days leading up to birth of Jesus. It is a time of celebration as we prepare for His first coming and plan and prepare for the festivities of the season.
God has a plan for His people but Satan interfered and God provided a way out for His followers. However, for Sunday we look at “ How God Messed With Satan At Christmas.” Our scripture reading is taken from Matthew 2:1 – 7. Maybe your thinking I need to get to church or possibly back to church during the Christmas season. There is no better time to begin than right now. Do not let anything interfere with this season of your life.
Asbury Chapel (asburychapel.org is our website) is an independent Protestant church that believes and teaches the scriptures. We are not a church conforming to the irrational beliefs of 2025. We invite you to join us this Sunday at 9:30 AM for our weekly worship service. We are located at 2704 South Highway W in Foley, MO. If you are unable to attend for some reason check us out on Facebook. You will find our message notes following.
“How God Messed With Satan At Christmas”
Satan is no match for God.
- Let’s begin with the first Christmas.
-Mary and Joseph the journey
Satan was fooled with the birth of Jesus.
– Satan knew some things about the birth of the Messiah.
1. The first thing God did was to choose a man and woman not from Bethlehem, but from Nazareth, far to the north.
2. The second thing, He saw to it that the woman’s purity and morality would be in doubt
3. The third thing God did was to arrange to move Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem in time for the birth,
- And that’s why Satan couldn’t find baby Jesus.
Then God bought the ticket to travel to Egypt.
- Satan had lost Jesus.
- And Jesus lived without notice for the next thirty years.
- John baptizes Jesus
Satan fought Jesus every day of his three-year ministry.
But that is not the end!
