At a moment of rising fascism and accelerating attacks on human rights, democracy, and the environment, this project asserts a simple truth: the power belongs to the people.Through this collaborative art project, we’re coming together to reflect what we value, what we hope for, and what kind of world we want to build together, and making it visual.Read more about this project at wethepeoplequilt.org.The Quilt Starter Workshops have two parts:Project introduction, thematic brainstorming and technical and design information for completing your quilt panel. Participants that decide to join the project, will be provided a 29.5" square cotton muslin panel to use as the panel base. Participants need to design and complete their quilt square design by May 15 for inclusion in this phase of the community quilt.This weekend we are not hosting an open studio session, but we will stay for another 30 minutes to talk and answer questions after the workshop._________________________We have offered many Quilt Starter Workshops at locations in Sonoma County in January, February, and March, often at public library spaces.
