# Event Details - **Event Name**: Pitch Black Saturday Midnight Prerelease Event - July 4 - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 04 Jul, 2026 at 12:00 am – Sat, 04 Jul, 2026 at 02:15 am - **Event Description**: With the increased popularity in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, we want to ensure that we can accommodate all players who want to experience the prerelease events as they are intended; to explore the brand new cards and experience playing these cards for the first time. As such, we are choosing to offer prioritized Pitch Black prerelease event registration to competitors who regularly attend our Pokémon League sessions as listed in Section 3.3: Tournament Entry in the Play! Pokémon Tournament Rules Handbook. ----- What does that look like? Our Pokémon League trainers may visit the store starting 5:30 PM, Tuesday, June 16 to prepay and pre-register in-person with their Player ID, full name, and birth year for any or all of our four Pitch Black prerelease events. Remaining prerelease slots are available on a first come, first served basis with each player's Player ID, full name, and birth year starting Tuesday, June 30. ----- Scheduled Pitch Black Prerelease Events Saturday, July 4, 12:00 midnight (hard cap limit of 28 players) Saturday, July 4, 2:00 PM (24 players) Saturday, July 4, 6:00 PM (24 players) Sunday, July 5, 1:00 PM (24 players) When any prerelease event is SOLD OUT, the Google calendar entry AND the Facebook event will be updated to reflect that status. Pitch Black prerelease entry fee: $35 CDN (taxes included) per event - NO CANCELLATIONS OR REFUNDS of Entry fee. - If any player does not attend or stay for their registered prerelease event, their ability to register for any of our future prerelease events may be forfeited. ===== Format: Limited - Sealed deck F & C House of Cards will remain open throughout Friday evening until the conclusion of the Mega Evolution: Pitch Black midnight prerelease. Deck building: Saturday, 12:00 AM Round 1 start: Approximately 12:30 AM, or when all players are ready, whichever is earlier Event format: Three rounds, age-modified Swiss round robin Round format: Twenty (20) minute best-of-1 game match rounds, plus three turns lasting no more than fifteen (15) additional minutes (if necessary) Prize distribution category: Casual - Three (3) Mega Evolution: Pitch Black booster packs will be provided to each player upon successful completion of the final tournament round.
