PD Day at AWE: Digital Day Camp

Youth ages 6-12 are invited to the gallery for a full day of hands-on artmaking, exhibition tours, and outdoor activities. Each PD Day focuses on a different artistic technique and medium, giving participants the chance to learn new skills, explore the galleries, and spark their imagination in our education studio!

The program is led by AWE’s team of Artist Educators and includes both guided and self-guided activities. Our programs include art-making activities in the studio, guided lessons, lunch and snack break and outdoor play.

Experiment with hands-on and digital techniques to bring your imagination to life! Use clay, paper, and everyday objects to craft your own stop-motion film, then bring it to life with digital tools like green screens and cameras.

Campers will learn how to create a storyboard, build characters and sets, and film and edit their own short animations. They will also explore the exhibitions .

What You’ll Learn:

• Storyboarding: Map out your ideas and sketch the scenes of your very own film.
• Character and set building: Design and create unique characters and imaginative worlds for them to explore.
• Filming and editing: Bring your story to life using tablets and digital cameras, then polish it into a finished short film.
• And so much more: digital drawing, soundtrack design, coding, and photography!
