For the most heart opening, energizing and meditative effects please eat lightly at least two hours before the ceremony. Chairs are available for those who require one Ceremonial cacao is a pure, minimally processed form of cacao (the raw ingredient from which chocolate is made). It comes from whole cacao beans that are roasted at low temperatures, peeled, and ground into a paste — with no processing beyond what’s necessary to maintain its natural integrity and energetic properties. The cacao served at our ceremony will also contain vanilla, panela (a traditional, unrefined whole cane sugar, commonly used in Latin American countries) and chili powder. This is a completely vegan recipe. Although Ceremonial Cacao does contains a small amount of caffeine, its stimulating effects are caused by theobromine, a mild cardiovascular stimulant that increases blood flow and heart rate. If you are concerned that you may experience nausea or the jitters while drinking cacao on an empty stomach, have a small snack before ceremony. Cacao is also mildly acidic and can cause digestive discomfort for some if there’s no food in the stomach.
