📚 An Afternoon With an Author – Featuring Sara Macri
🗓 Saturday, November 29th | 🕑 2:00 PM | 📍 The Parlour
🎟 Admission by donation
Join us for this month’s An Afternoon With an Author as we welcome local author Sara Macri, who will be reading from and discussing her novel, Overcoming Omerta. Overcoming Omerta is set in Aldridge City, 1954, and follows two main characters whose lives become intertwined because of gang loyalty, personal trauma, and the possibility of redemption.
Adriano De Luca returned from war a broken soldier—until he found Santino and the Bergamo Family to take him in. Now, he’s on the fast track to becoming a Capo in the organization that saved him from @self-destruction. In order to get to the top, Adriano has to pay a steep price—one that even makes a hardened war veteran shrink away with disgust. The alternative is to go on the lamb and give up what blood family he has left for a life on the run.
Will Adriano do the unthinkable to achieve success within the Family? Or will he choose a path of redemption and exile? All that is certain is that Family can be the one thing that can make you or break you.
Overcoming Omerta is Sara Macri's first novel, and the first mystery featured in our An Afternoon with an Author Series.
