The mini-conference kicks off with a plenary roundtable discussion of attendee agencies’ best practices and challenges, then continues with 90-minute breakout sessions covering a wide range of transit-specific and hot topics by experts in Tribal and rural transit program development, including, but not limited to: Transit Planning I and II, long range transportation planning, National Environmental Policy Act I and II, procurement and the use of NRTAP’s ProcurementPro tool, grant writing, the latest research on right-sizing your fleets, as well as how transit agencies can “do more with less” and create, build or enhance Tribal Transit Systems.National RTAP will also be hosting Passenger Assistance, Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) driver training training during the event. Registration is limited so reserve your agencies drivers.The Passenger Assistance, Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) driver training program is the recognized industry standard when it comes to ensuring that your passengers are transported in the most safe, sensitive and careful manner possible.PASS is ideal for non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) trips, for ADA paratransit services, for specialized transit for older passengers, for human and social service riders — really any transportation operation where the passengers require extra care.PASS trained drivers know how to safely and sensitively transport everyone.Arrival and Preparation for the Driver Training.Check-in: Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete the registration and check-in process.Materials: All necessary training materials will be provided on-site.Certification RequirementsAttendance: Full attendance is mandatory. Participants must remain for the entire duration of the course to qualify for certification.Validity: Upon successful completion, your certification will remain valid for two years.Safety and AttireTo ensure safety during the hands-on portions of the training, please adhere to the following dress code:Footwear: Closed-toe shoes are strictly required.Clothing: Please avoid loose-fitting attire, such as dresses or skirts.Weather Preparedness: The wheelchair securement exercise and testing will be conducted outdoors. Please dress appropriately for current weather conditions.Lunch LogisticsA 30-minute break will be provided for lunch. Participants are welcome to bring a meal to the classroom or utilize the time as needed, provided they are ready to resume training promptly.QUESTIONS?
