GODZILLA 1985 (1984) in 35mm

The King of the Monsters returns to the big screen on Friday, February 27, as the Gap Theatre presents GODZILLA 1985 (1984), screened in 35mm.

Marking Godzilla’s thunderous comeback after nearly a decade away, this Cold War–charged reboot pits the legendary kaiju against modern weaponry, global superpowers, and humanity’s own hubris. Darker and more serious in tone than earlier entries, Godzilla 1985 restores the menace of the original, with city-crushing destruction, ominous special effects, and a grim sense of scale that feels unmistakably ’80s.

Featuring spectacular miniature work, apocalyptic imagery, and a renewed sense of dread, this is Godzilla reborn for a new era. Experience the roar, the ruin, and the radioactive terror the way it was meant to be seen—on the big screen, in 35mm, at the Gap Theatre.
