Please note that this hike can be strenuous and may not be suitable for beginners. Not only the trail is the longest in the Fells, it covers a lot of hills and rocky sections. Depending on the weather, some sections might be muddy. We will be hiking at a brisk speed of 2-2.5 miles per hour for some good morning exercise to start the Thanksgiving week. We aim to finish the hike within 4 hours. Hiking shoes/boots are highly recommended. Please bring plenty of water with you on this hike. Snacks, sunscreen, hiking poles and sun hat are also recommended. Frequent water breaks are planned to ensure everyone is properly hydrated and for slower hikers to catch up. The hike might be canceled if rains.We will be meeting at the intersection of Appalachian Rd and the Hillcrest Parkway at 8:25AM to do a brief intro and start hiking at 8:30AM. We aim to finish before 12:30 PM. You can find the meeting location here.
