- **Event Description**: Featuring a WIP show from Ben Ashurst (Ben Ashurst: The Worst Man)
Winchester born and bred Ben Ashurst brings a Work In Progress of his Edinburgh Fringe 2026 show to The Railway.
Ben Ashurst is struggling to be an adult.
Now in his thirties, he should be getting his act together. But it’s hard when the world doesn’t make any sense. What do you mean you can’t walk through a drive-thru?! Why on earth would someone choose him as their Best Man?
In The Worst Man, Ben attempts to navigate adulthood, responsibility, and the high-pressure honour of delivering a Best Man’s speech. Which should be easy… you’re a comedian, right?
This warm, light-hearted stand-up comedy show hilariously highlights the things in life that Ben thinks should be simple… but aren’t.

Ben Ashurst (as featured on BBC Radio, Stand Up For Cider Winner 2023) has quickly established himself as a rising star of the comedy circuit. His warm, likeable stage presence coupled with self-deprecating humour will definitely leave the audience wanting more.
“Ben is so likeable, warm and most importantly… Funny.” – Paul McCaffrey, Live at the Apollo

With support from…

His own show, “Bedtime Stories for children over 18” premiered at the Festival last year.
“I certainly think you’re funny.” – Adam Bloom

Hosted by Charlie Bateman
Charlie has never fitted in, so now he’s given up. He might know one end of an oboe from the other, but struggles to find the right farm… A regular on the south coast comedy scene as both performer and MC, Charlie is known for some great punch lines.
