Dubbed the Blues-Punk Prophet of Doom, Cryin Caleb is a one-man-band spectacle- equal parts sideshow act and sonic reckoning. A singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, he delivers blistering, soul-soaked performances that feel like a cross between a haunted carnival and a Rock n' Roll revival.
Brash yet melodic, his sets are both a whirlwind of upbeat distorted guitar riffs and thundering drums played simultaneously with precision, as well as a tender, soulful display of crooned ballads.
With equal parts cynicism and pathos, his dynamic, rousing songs are almost always laced with desperation, dealing with existential dread, lonesomeness, regret, alienation, love, and armageddon.
Drawing comparisons to the swagger of The Cramps, the gravelly mystique of Tom Waits, and the theatrical flair of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Cryin Caleb is impossible to forget.
