Pioneer Winter Collective is supported by local, state, foundation, and fellowship grants, including Miami Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, State of Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, and the Knight Foundation. Pioneer Winter's choreography has been commissioned by several South Florida universities, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Miami Theater Center, Karen Peterson and Dancers, Tigertail Productions, MDC Live Arts, and Jacksonville Dance Theatre. Pioneer Winter seeks out dance in all bodies and experiences, recently in a solo for a 13 year-old basketball prodigy, which premiered at MDC Live Arts in February 2019. Outside of the Collective, Pioneer Winter teaches in areas of social justice and art, epistemology, and dance at Florida International University, where he has been a faculty fellow in the Honors College since 2014, dance minor coordinator and adjunct faculty in the Theatre Department since 2018; he has also been director of ScreenDance Miami Festival produced by Miami Light Project since 2016.
