Escape this summer into a heartfelt, comedic, and unexpectedly emotional musical when an overworked mother and her teenage daughter swap bodies. Ellie Blake and her mother, Katherine, can’t seem to understand each other. 

Now, both must literally spend a day in each other’s shoes. It’s the day before Katherine’s wedding and time is running out for them to change back as they learn about each other and the struggle to forge a new mother-daughter relationship.

Freaky Friday is based on the beloved 1972 novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films. This July’s Summer Community Musical is produced by Wilson Arts and Greenfield School Fine Arts. The delightfully spunky stage show features Jessica Rogers as Katherine Blake, Finn Harwood as daughter Ellie and Seth Greene as Mike, Katherine’s fiancée. The production is directed by Seth Penwell with musical direction by Caroline Baker and choreography by Ashley Beaman. 

Tickets are on sale now for performances July 25-27. To purchase tickets in advance, visit www.wilsonarts.com/tickets, call the box office at 252-291-4329, or stop by the Wilson Arts Center at 204 Nash Street S during business hours. Tickets will also be available at the Boykin Center Box Office on show days beginning an hour before show time.
