WhirliDogs Prep Academy Sponsored by the Healthcare Foundation of Wilson

WhirliDogs Prep Academy is a hands-on learning experience where confidence, job skills, and belonging come together. Over four Tuesday evening sessions, participants learn the core skills used in a commercial kitchen: food preparation, kitchen vocabulary, safe cleaning and sanitizing practices, teamwork, and communication.

Each week, trainees prepare a full entrée from scratch and take it home to share with their families. This builds practical cooking skills and creates a moment of pride and connection at home. Our mentors are patient, experienced, and genuinely invested in helping each participant learn at their own pace.
