- **Event Description**: WhirliDog's Cafe is excited to announce its 2nd Mahjong event, scheduled for Wednesday May 13th from 6:00–8:00 PM (doors open at 5:30). We’re especially thrilled that Stephanie Batten and her full coaching staff will be returning—an added bonus for all participants!

For **Part 2**, the evening will focus on building your confidence and gameplay with instruction on:

* How to read an American Mahjong card

* Building walls and dealing

* The Charleston

* Playing with blanks

As in Part 1, you’ll have the opportunity to build practice hands and play several games, with coaches available throughout the session for guidance and support.

To get the most out of Part 2, participants should be familiar with the following concepts from Part 1:

* The 3 suits: Cracks, Bams, and Dots

* Matching vs. opposing dragons

* Singles, pairs, pungs, kongs, and quints

* Flowers and winds

* Use of jokers

Heavy hors d'oeuvres will be served from 5:30-6:30 PM and are included in your ticket, along with sodas, teas, and a signature mocktail. Adult beverages may be purchased at The Porch across the street or Casita Brewing around the corner and brought in if desired as we are  part of the downtown social district.

Price: $35 per person
Includes instruction, guided play, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and nonalcoholic beverages. Please bring cash or a check for this fundraiser.
