# Event Details

- **Event Name**: Freedom Fridays
- **Event Start and End Date**: Fri, 02 Oct, 2026 at 04:00 pm – Fri, 02 Oct, 2026 at 06:00 pm (-04:00)
- **Event Description**: Freedom Fridays are in Wilson!

Join us every Friday 4 to 6 pm at the intersection of Raleigh Rd and Airport Blvd.

This will be a peaceful, positive, and nonviolent demonstration, open to all, where we can come together and advocate for change.

We are standing up to protect the people in our communities: Our senior citizens, our children’s futures, our immigrants/refugees, our hardworking families, our jobs, our economy. We want to inspire people to join us, to unite and create positive changes in our laws that will protect us and NOT DIVIDE US.

We are here to promote unity in our community, protect human rights, promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and social justice. So join us and bring positive signs.

Bring signs about the issues you believe in whether it’s SNAP, Veterans’ Rights, DEI, women’s rights, etc. Some sign ideas are: ‘We support LGBTQIA+,’ 'Freedom for All', 'Justice for All', ‘Save Medicaid', and 'Fund Children, not Billionaires.’

“Differences don't weaken us, division does." "When greed rules, people suffer." "Don't let cruelty win. Bullies shrink when citizens rise." "The worst thing you can do is nothing.”

“America won't heal by hating harder."

"Fair taxes vs. billionaires."

Please refrain from bringing signs with negative or divisive messages, as we aim to create an inclusive and welcoming environment for all. So, please, no mocking signs and no swastikas.

Some ED4D demonstrators are registered Unaffiliated or have voted for Republicans in the past. When we are mindful of signs that show our values people will unite, and we will vote for folks who share those values. We will also raise awareness of how folks have voted on bills that go against our values, like the big bad bill. We also need to highlight corruption and the lack of accountability and checks and balances on that corruption.

We want candidates who support our values, not a specific party.

If you are not up to attending Freedom Fridays, there are other things you can do. Every action even small ones has a butterfly effect.

Attend City Council meetings to see what’s happening in our town, which members share our values, and who we need to support to help Wilson’s leaders represent the values the people believe in.

Checkout ED4D’s page to see the 35+ weekly demonstrations and other action ideas.

Thank you Wilson!
