🎅 Key Event Timings:
🎁 10am: Markets open on Alderley Road.
🎁 12pm - 3.30pm: free lantern-making workshops on Hawthorn Lane.
🎁 1.40pm onwards: Live entertainment hosted by Erik Garner from the Christmas Stage near Bank Square, including:
Wilmslow vocalist Ruby, Stagecoach, Rock Choir, DATS (performing Sleeping Beauty at Wilmslow Leisure Centre in December), TEMPO (performing Sister Act at Wilmslow Leisure Centre in March), Wilmslow High School Jazz Band, Wilmslow High School Choir, Pownall Hall School Choir and Wilmslow Academy Primary School Choir.
🎁 5pm (approximately): Big countdown to the lights switch-on at Bank Square, with Father Christmas and special guests the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who.
It is with regret that there will be no Reindeer Parade this year. This is due to the ongoing Blue Tongue Virus outbreak (more information is on our website).
Wilmslow Town Mayor, Councillor Sally Harrison, said, “We cannot wait for Wilmslow’s 2025 Christmas Lights Switch-on – with our most fun-packed stage line-up yet.
“We’re sorry that there won’t be any reindeer this year, but the health of the Cairngorm herd must come first. We’ll miss them, but we hope the lantern workshops, live entertainment, and a few extra surprises will make it a magical day for everyone.
“We’re proud to fund and organise this special day, alongside our wonderful compere Erik Garner, the Wilmslow’s Way Better team, and local schools and community groups.
“On behalf of the Town Council and all Councillors, we hope everyone in the Wilmslow community enjoys this festive occasion.”
