This is your moment to meet new faces, greet returning artists, share what you’re working on, exchange socials, and build relationships that extend beyond the stage. Whether you’re performing, supporting, or just curious about the creative community, this opening session sets the atmosphere for collaboration, encouragement, and shared energy before the mic goes live.?: 07:30 PM - 07:40 PMOpening The MicInfo: This is the moment that sets the tone for the night. Opening the Mic is a dedicated 10-minute segment where the host — or a selected volunteer from the audience — officially launches the evening with a featured performance piece. It’s more than just going first; it’s about breaking the silence, igniting the room, and inviting every voice that follows to step forward with confidence. Once the opening piece is delivered, the mic is officially live and the stage is open.?: 07:45 PM - 08:50 PMThe Open MicInfo: This is the heart of the night. During the Open Mic Segment, ten selected poets and spoken-word artists take the stage to share original work, personal truth, and creative fire. Each performer brings a unique voice, story, and rhythm to the room — creating a live tapestry of expression, vulnerability, courage, and craft. Whether delivering raw honesty, lyrical beauty, faith-filled reflection, or social commentary, every artist contributes to the pulse of the evening. The mic is open, the audience is present, and the moment belongs to the voices in the room.?: 08:50 PM - 09:30 PMFeatured Artist David T. HarrisInfo: David T. Harris is a spoken-word artist, storyteller, and community voice whose creative work merges poetry, purpose, and spiritual clarity. Known for his grounded presence and his heart for people, David draws deeply from lived experience, faith, and the everyday narratives that shape local neighborhoods. His poetry doesn’t simply entertain—it restores perspective, provokes thought, and invites audiences into a journey of healing and self-awareness. A committed servant-leader, David uses his platform to uplift the stories that often go unheard. Through his engagement with the community—both online and in person—he has become a connector, bridge-builder, and encourager. His Facebook presence, including the “Community Conversations” group he interacts with, reflects his dedication to fostering spaces where people can share truth, grow together, and confront real-world issues with honesty and hope.?: 09:30 PM - 09:40 PMQ & A / Meet The PoetInfo: After the feature performance, we open the floor for Meet the Poet, an interactive question-and-answer segment where the audience gets a closer look into the artist behind the words. This is a moment to explore creative process, inspiration, personal journey, and the stories beneath the stage persona. It creates connection, insight, and community — reminding us that poetry is not just performed, but lived. - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/wilmington/write-in-your-face-open-mic/100001980929555626 - **Event Categories**: art, open-mic, literary-art, performances, entertainment, spoken-word - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 ## Ticket Details - **Ticket Price Range**: min: 12.51, max: 12.51, currency: USD ## Event venue details - **city**: Wilmington - **state**: DE - **country**: United States - **location**: 239 N Market St - **lat**: 39.7398309 - **long**: -75.5521023 - **full address**: 239 N Market St, 239 North Market Street, Wilmington, United States ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: Write In Your Face Open Mic - **Image URL**: https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events4/banners/9e5eeef5e65ebdb5129715685a73415d989f9552731c8cf30bbd8feb0c8dff19-rimg-w1200-h600-dc010101-gmir.jpg?v=1769350157 ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is Write In Your Face Open Mic being held? - **A:** Write In Your Face Open Mic takes place on Fri, 17 Apr, 2026 at 07:00 pm to Fri, 17 Apr, 2026 at 10:00 pm at 239 N Market St, 239 North Market Street, Wilmington, United States. - **Q**: Who is organizing Write In Your Face Open Mic? - **A:** Write In Your Face Open Mic is organized by Write In Your Face LLC. - **Q**: Who is this event for?
