- **Event Description**: Join us for the ultimate plant geek-out session where we dive deep into the world of plant systematics!About this EventTo maximize educational impact, we request participants register for all 4 classes included in this series.Class 4 — Wednesday, March 25, 2026 (10:00–11:00 AM)Plant Systematics Course Series (Class 4): Derived Eudicots — Nightshades, Mustards &amp; GourdsWe’ll finish with three high-impact families that dominate gardens, farms, and markets: Solanaceae (nightshades), Brassicaceae (mustards), and Cucurbitaceae (gourds). These families are ideal for leveling up your identification skills because their floral and fruit traits are highly diagnostic when you know what to look for.We’ll cover key morphology and vocabulary, then practice separating these groups using repeatable characters (flower symmetry, ovary position, inflorescence cues, and fruit types).Mini-Lab: Side-by-side observation + guided flower/fruit diagrams and labeling using a small set of samples.What to bring: sketchbook/journal + pencil/pen.
