JOIN US IN SUPPORTING THE ARTS:
Music draws us together—it lifts our hearts, strengthens our sense of belonging, and reminds us we’re part of something larger than ourselves. In moments like these, gathering through music is a simple but powerful act of togetherness.
We believe music should be shared freely and joyfully. While there’s no cost to attend, you can show your appreciation by making a donation to the musicians. We will have a donation basket and a QR code at the event for cash or credit card donations. All contributions go directly to the performers.
The concert is an hour in length and will be followed by refreshments.
ABOUT:
Telemann’s Oratorio Die Tageszeiten (“The Times of the Day”) is a lyrical oratorio by Georg Philipp Telemann, written in 1757. Intimate in scope and pastoral in character, it features four vocal soloists, strings, and continuo. It's set to a libretto by the poet Friedrich Wilhelm Zachariae, and brings the cycle of morning, noon, evening, and night to life as a spiritual and moral allegory.
Telemann uses vivid text-painting—bright arpeggios for dawn, fuller textures for midday, gentle pastorale rhythms for evening, and hushed tones for night.
SOLOISTS:
STRUCTURE: The oratorio unfolds in four sections, each corresponding to a part of the day.
