We will be drawing and painting with pen, brush, and water, (using watercolor pencils at the end). We will combine the Elegant Writer shading skills with watercolor pencil to make a poinsettia in reds and pinks. All materials will be provided as well as techniques that assist and allow participants to experiment and build painting skills.

First we will play with and practice several approaches before we try a finished piece using what we have discovered. It takes some practice to figure out how to make the ink ‘bleed’ flow the way we want it to. Once we have that mastered we will apply the technique to the poinsettia picture provided (drawn with the special pen) creating a background and shading with the bleed from the ink. Lastly we will use watercolor pencils to color the flowers and leaves and then use a brush to blend.

This is very individualized and quite relaxing. You will leave with several practice pieces and one finished poinsettia.
