Saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer Nick Biello is known as an exciting and deeply artful musician whose sound has reached stages across the globe. A winner of the Julius Keilwerth International Saxophone Idol Competition, Nick has shared the stage with legends like Slide Hampton, Cedar Walton, and John Benitez, and performed at renowned venues including Birdland, Blue Note, Dizzy’s at Lincoln Center, Smalls, Mezzrow, and festivals in Italy and Taiwan. A prolific recording artist and composer, his work bridges lyricism, fire, and fearless improvisation - the perfect soundtrack for a night of spontaneous creation.

Painting alongside the music is Amanda Roy, a Hartford-based artist and arts leader celebrated for her abstract, meditative paintings made with natural pigments and handmade inks. Roy’s intuitive process blends the symbolism of plants, the emotional influence of music, and mixed media elements such as embroidery and expressive mark making. Her work, exhibited in Connecticut and New York City, invites viewers into cycles of humanity, memory, and transformation. As the host of the podcast In the Making with Mander, Roy explores the creative journey - and at this event, you’ll witness that journey unfolding live.
