- **Event Name**: Halifax Borough, PA Family Friendly Community Celebration Event at Deppen Park
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 12 Jul, 2026 at 10:30 am
- **Event Description**: The Aliver Foundation, in partnership with Halifax Borough, will host a family-friendly community celebration event at Deppen Park on Sunday, July 12th from 10:30am-11:30am to dedicate highly visible, bright yellow, all-weather, climate-controlled outdoor AED equipment placed through Bryson’s Bundles in memory of 10-year-old Bryson Funk. This equipment was underwritten by Sean Kelleher Insurance & Financial Services.

The event will offer something for all ages, including children’s activities, an interactive CPR/AED demonstration by the Halifax Area Ambulance & Rescue Association, opportunities to meet first responders from the Halifax Fire Department, Halifax Area Ambulance & Rescue Association, and Halifax Police Department, as well as a touch-a-truck featuring their emergency response vehicles. Community members are encouraged to come learn more about The Aliver Foundation and Bryson’s Bundles while seeing the outdoor AED equipment placed in Bryson’s memory.
In addition to the Halifax Borough event, The Aliver Foundation is holding Bryson’s Bundles community celebration events in Camp Hill on July 10th at Fiala Field at 5:30pm, Hummelstown on July 11th at Barry E. Mehaffie Memorial Park at 10:30am, and Harrisburg on July 12th at Fort Hunter Park at 1pm.

Bryson’s Bundles is a Pennsylvania-focused initiative powered by The Aliver Foundation that places outdoor AED equipment in recreation spaces in memory of 10-year-old Bryson Funk, who died in June 2025. Bryson showed what it means to lead with kindness, compassion, and community, and this program carries that legacy forward by helping place lifesaving equipment where families, children, athletes, and community members gather.

“Our family is delighted that Bryson’s Bundles was created in memory of Bryson. Knowing the community has 24/7 access to lifesaving outdoor AED equipment gives our family so much comfort and healing. We are grateful to The Aliver Foundation for donating their time and energy into placing this equipment into our communities. This equipment can potentially save so many lives and help reduce the number of families who go through what our family experienced,” said the Funk family.

Since September 2025, all outdoor AED equipment The Aliver Foundation donates in Pennsylvania has been placed in Bryson’s memory through Bryson’s Bundles. The program officially launched after The Aliver Foundation donated outdoor AED equipment to Koons Park in Linglestown, where Bryson played baseball. Following that donation and conversations with The Aliver Foundation, Lower Paxton Township invested in outdoor AED equipment bundles for three additional parks: Brightbill Park, George Park, and Kohl Memorial Park.

“The safety and well-being of our residents is always a priority for Halifax Borough. We are incredibly grateful to The Aliver Foundation for making this outdoor AED equipment possible and helping to bring lifesaving resources directly into our community. This dedication is about more than installing equipment. It’s about empowering our residents with the knowledge and confidence to act during an emergency. By learning hands-only CPR, becoming familiar with AEDs, and connecting with our first responders, community members are gaining skills that could one day save a life. We invite everyone to join us at Deppen Park to celebrate this important addition, meet our local heroes, and enjoy a fun and educational event for all ages. Together, we are building a safer, stronger, and more prepared Halifax,” said Mayor Jeff Enders.

Bryson’s Bundles has continued to grow across Pennsylvania, with a strong presence in Dauphin County and surrounding communities. Through the program, The Aliver Foundation has donated outdoor AED equipment to recreation spaces including Koons Park in Linglestown, Wildwood Park in Harrisburg, Fort Hunter Park in Harrisburg, Wiconisco Creek Park in Millersburg, Lykens Glen Park in Lykens, Deppen Park in Halifax Borough, Mehaffie Park in Hummelstown, Shope Field in Hummelstown, Fiala Field in Camp Hill, Dauphin Middle Paxton Community Park in Dauphin, Moon Park in Moon, Macclesfield Park in Yardley, and Memorial Park in Lower Makefield Township. The Aliver Foundation has secured grant funding for 11 additional outdoor recreation spaces and corporate sponsorship of one more, which are currently in progress. Once those placements are complete, The Aliver Foundation’s work in Pennsylvania will represent over three dozen outdoor AED equipment bundles across the state. These placements are ensuring Bryson’s legacy of kindness, compassion, and community lives on across Pennsylvania, one act of kindness and one lifesaving bundle at a time.

The Aliver Foundation raises awareness and funds to place outdoor AED equipment in recreation spaces while also providing crucial resources and educational opportunities to individuals and communities. Its goal is simple: to save lives and help hearts by increasing the number of highly visible, bright yellow, all-weather, climate-controlled AED equipment bundles in outdoor recreation spaces; educating about cardiac arrest, CPR, AED usage, and the difference between sudden cardiac arrest and heart attacks; and offering resources and support to sudden cardiac arrest survivors and their loved ones.

Founded in January 2024, The Aliver Foundation has helped place nearly 160 outdoor AED equipment bundles in public recreation spaces and is currently working with community partners in more than twelve states. Each outdoor AED equipment bundle The Aliver Foundation places costs $2,500 and consists of a CE TEK 4000 outdoor AED enclosure and Stryker AED. Once funding is secured, the Foundation identifies a new community, works with its First Responder Committee to identify an appropriate public recreation space, and engages with the municipality to facilitate the donation.
