Mark your calendars now and help us celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence!
The eighth grade class cordially invites you to the 21st annual Willard Revolutionary War Reenactment and Encampment at Willard Middle School. Students will reenact famous events and battle scenes from the era, like the Lexington and Concord, Monmouth, Valley Forge, and Yorktown. Wearing period clothing, students will be learning crafts and activities such as tin punching, paper making, land surveying, military drilling, hearth kettle cooking, food preservation, knitting, pottery, and more. General George Washington may even make an appearance.
After completing primary source research and first person character sketch on a Revolutionary War soldier who moved to the Firelands of Ohio, some students will earn the opportunity to attend a military ball. The evening event will be completed with live vocal and instrumental music. These individuals will also spend the night in the encampment. Saturday morning students will portray life in the encampment for the community. The Revolutionary War Reenactment and Encampment benefits the students by participating in authentic representations of the home and daily life of minutemen and colonial citizens. The community is invited to journey back in time between 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Friday and between 8AM and 3PM on Saturday.
We hope you will join us for this educational and entertaining evening. For more information find us on Facebook at
