About the event

Winter Vaccine Titer Clinic
Our next Vaccine Titer Clinic is February 28th (Saturday) from 10am until 2pm! Save The Date! Cats and Dogs are WELCOME!

So many people ask why we do these clinics - it is such a part of my heart and soul because almost took the life of my dog almost 8 years ago. BZRK was 3 years old when she was given over 5 different vaccines at one veterinary visit in addition to a benadryl and steroid (because she had a vaccine reaction prior) and the clinic told me this was all safe and in her best interest...I trusted them.

A few months later she was diagnosed with a MCT (Mast Cell Tumor) and her veterinarian told me that her body couldn't handle the amount of vaccines and that it caused the tumor. She was apologetic and admitted they should not have vaccinated her again after her severe reaction. I was mad at myself. For not advocating for my dog, for not researching, for not asking questions...it was MY fault.

Do you know the canine (I can also get you the feline vaccine schedule as well) recommended vaccine schedule for dogs per the AAHA? Let me show you...

Before the dog is 16 weeks of age they should get:

Distemper
Adenovirus
Parvovirus
+/- Parainfluenza

"At least 3 doses of a
combination vaccine
between 6 and 16 weeks,
2-4 weeks apart"

Leptospira
(killed) 4-serovar

"Two doses, 2-4 weeks
apart, starting at 12
weeks of age."

Dogs over 16 weeks of age:

Distemper
Adenovirus
Parvovirus
+/- Parainfluenza

2 doses of a combination
vaccine, 2-4 weeks apart.

Leptospira
(killed) 4-serovar

Two doses, 2-4 weeks
apart, regardless of dog’s
age.

Non-Core:

Borrelia burgdorferi
(canine Lyme disease)

Two doses, 2-4 weeks
apart.

Two doses, 2-4 weeks
apart, regardless of dog’s
age.

• A single dose within 1 year following the last
dose in the initial vaccination series.

• Administer subsequent boosters annually.
Bordetella
bronchiseptica &
canine parainfluenza
virus

A single (IN) dose is indicated for dogs at risk of
exposure. • Administer subsequent boosters annually.
Bordetella
bronchiseptica only
Parenteral (SQ): Two doses, 2-4 weeks apart.
IN: Administer a single dose intranasally.
Oral: Administer a single dose into the buccal pouch.
• Administer subsequent boosters annually.

Canine influenza
virus-H3N8/H3N2
Two doses, 2-4 weeks apart. • A single dose within 1 year following the last
dose in the initial vaccination series.
• Administer subsequent boosters annually.

Crotalus atrox
(Western diamondback
rattlesnake)
Dosing requirements and frequency of administration vary among dogs depending on body weight and
exposure.

Am I ANTI-VAX? Absolutely Not! However, I am ANTI-OVER VAX!
These are your cats and dogs - you are free to do as you wish with your choices, medical decisions and vaccine schedule. I am only asking...maybe even begging you...please do your research. Your pet does not get to make the choice of what you do at your vet office...vaccines, flea/tick, heartworm, etc...you are the deciding factor. They are trusting you - please go to your vet packed with knowledge, understanding, confidence and education.

We are still doing everything in our power to, at the very least, get a medical exemption here in Indiana for our pets. That way if you have a sick pet who cannot handle vaccines or has a compromised immune system, you would be able to get an exemption from your vet stating why you are refusing the vaccine.

Whether you agree with us or not, we absolutely respect all sides and the choices you make are truly yours. Thank you for listening and for striving to keep the health of your pet a top priority.

The photo you see is my dog BZRK - who will be celebrating 8 years cancer free after I over-vaccinated her and was not her advocate. I am so thankful she is still here today even though her body will never be the same again...please don't make my same mistakes.
