3. gothic wave punk from Helsinki, Finland whose sound is best described as “Gothic Wave Punk”. Their lyrical themes deal with anxiety, depression and the human condition. Love, loss and the struggle to exist in a fucked up world. Founded in 2012, the band consists of Jan Ferres (lead vocals, guitars & synths), Antti Meriläinen (drums & backing vocals) and Risto Juntunen (bass & backing vocals).

[di: unru:] have recorded their sophomore full length album which will get released soon.

BABES OF ENOLA GREY – Deborah Vision am Synthesizer und Fabian van Castorp an der Gitarre – liefern den Soundtrack zu einem düsteren no-future Revival und verweigern sich dem lärmenden Eskapismus als bequemer Alternative zur Konfrontation mit der alltäglichen Zurichtung. Ihre Songs sind dennoch tanzbar und energiegeladen. Liegt eventuell daran, dass diejenigen, die nichts mehr zu verlieren haben, die einzigen sind, die wirklich frei sind? 

Babes of Enola Grey ist eine Dark-Wave-/Post-Pink-Band aus Frankfurt am Main, die 2020 von Deborah Vision und Fabian van Castorp gegründet wurde. Die Band ist von frühen Post-Punk-, EBM- und New-Wave-Künstlern wie Joy Division, OMD, DAF und Liaisons Dangereuses sowie von zeitgenössischen Acts wie She Past Away oder Lebanon Hanover und deutschen Dark-Punk-Bands wie Fliehende Stürme und EA80 inspiriert, versucht jedoch, sich nicht zu sehr an imaginäre Genregrenzen oder Erwartungen zu binden. Das Ergebnis ist Musik, die manche als eklektisch bezeichnen würden. Dennoch haben ihre Songs einen melancholischen und rebellischen Charakter. Die Texte umweht ein Hauch von Zynismus. Gleichzeitig bleibt eine im Punk wurzelnde Attitüde, die sich jedweder Kapitulation verweigert, stets präsent. 

2021 veröffentlichte die Band ihr Debütalbum „Anfang vom Ende“ beim Berliner Label Crave Tapes. 2022 folgte eine Remix-Compilation der Albumtracks mit Curses, Downwell und vielen anderen. 2025 veröffentlichte die Band ihr zweites Album „Krieg und Wohlstand“, erneut in Zusammenarbeit mit Crave Tapes.
