Es braust, kracht, brodelt und poltert.
Klangflächen entstehen, werden von Geräuschkulissen zerrissen, anschließend durch groovige Riffs zusammengeschweißt.
Das gesprochene Wort prallt auf gepickte Töne, angeschlagene Akkorde auf gestrichene Phrasen. Licht trifft auf Klang, Gedanken auf Emotionen.
Die SquarEars lassen keinen Stein auf dem anderen, sie drehen alles um und zeigen, was sich so im Unterholz verbirgt.

New dawn threads 
is a trio based in vienna trying to stitch archaic folk trance into a weave of improvisational garment that stretches itself across the audience. With Hurdy Gurdy, Voice and Electronics a soundscape is given, to lost in.

LILLIE CREATURES
repetition as a form of magic // oscillating through dreamlike
ambience and propulsive cycles. lo-fi-glow ritual dance with siren
acapella in half-speed.
Emerging from the trance-like continuity of multi-layered loop
structures, Austrian one-girl band LILLIE CREATURES explore
songwriting through the organic process of DAW-less live-sampling.
Otherworldly with a punk-hearted tweak, their trippy blend of
progressive space folk fuses haunting vocal harmonies, chants and
verses with acoustic guitar loops generating bass, percussion, and
hypnotic textures into an idiosyncratic micro-orchestra.
Launched in 2020 after studying fine arts in Japan, LILLIE
CREATURES emerged from the explorative atmosphere permeating
Tokyo’s visual arts and underground music scene. Following their
previous band 獣Kemono – an untamed avant-jam duo active until 2019
and formed with Japanese artist and cellist Haruno Kobori – and
solo expeditions as electric ambient somersault ANNA NU, its
genesis was inspired by whimsical improvisations at Shinto
shrines, art exhibitions and sessions in the grassroots orbit of
western Tokyo. Moving to Taipei from 2020 to 2022, LILLIE
CREATURES became embedded in Taiwan’s local indie and experimental
music scene, performing at venues and festivals around the island
before relocating to their hometown and now-base Vienna.
Equipped with voice, acoustic guitar and a battery of effect
units, LILLIE CREATURES draw elements of psychedelic, no wave,
traditional folk and process music into their own surrealistic
songscapes, unfolding as hybrid spells of transition and cadence.
