Pretty Pleas sind eine Wiener Band, die nach eigener Definition Moody Art Pop spielen – eine Mischung aus Rock, Power Pop, Elementen von Punk und New Wave sowie weiteren eigenwilligen Außenseiter-Genres, die auch progressive Einflüsse enthalten.
Das Hauptthema und zugleich die treibende Kraft hinter all ihrer Musik ist eine tief emotionale Verbindung, die sich durch ihre Songs und ihre Beziehung zu ihren Fans zieht.

Die Band wurde 2021 gegründet, als sich George Clavicle und Daniel Smith kennenlernten. Kurz darauf stieß Paolo Tornitore, ein italienischer Komponist und Multiinstrumentalist, dazu. Paolo verließ die Band zeitweise, um an eigenen Musikprojekten zu arbeiten, kehrte jedoch im letzten Jahr zurück.
Der wahre Wendepunkt für die Band kam Mitte 2022, als B.B. Kong, ihr Schlagzeuger, dazustieß. Er hatte zuvor ein Jahrzehnt lang in Mosambik Platten produziert und als Sessionmusiker gearbeitet.

Gerade diese Mischung aus den individuellen Erfahrungen und musikalischen Hintergründen der einzelnen Mitglieder – die zuvor in verschiedenen Bands in Wien, Europa und New York City tätig waren – schafft die besondere Chemie innerhalb der Band.
Im September 2024 veröffentlichten Pretty Pleas ihr Debütalbum “In Circles and Lines” bei Konkord Records.

YOUR GORGEOUS SELF

Your Gorgeous Self sind ein langjähriges Bandprojekt aus Wien. Sie spielen kurze, ehrliche Popsongs, die zum Mitsummen
einladen und im Ohr hängen bleiben. Sie glauben an DIY und die Kraft von Music & Attitude. Live spielen sie manchmal laut
und punkig, manchmal ruhig und reduziert, und nutzen dabei auch mal abstrusere Instrumente wie eine singende Säge,
eine Ukulele, ein Omnichord oder Electronics. Sie mögen Bands wie die Ramones, Nomeansno und Sparklehorse, klingen
aber überhaupt nicht so wie diese.
Seit der Veröffentlichung ihres dritten Tonträgers Courage, Fuel & Hope (getragen von weißem Vinyl!) im letzten Jahr
präsentieren sich Your Gorgeous Self 2025 als Duo und verstärkt elektronisch und akustisch produziert - und damit ruhiger,
vielleicht sphärischer, aber auch bunter und unterhaltsamer als je zuvor.
Die Konstante: Songs mit Herz, Spannung und Drive sowie einer lapidaren Schräge, angesiedelt irgendwo im Spannungsfeld
zwischen Sonnenschein und Aufbegehren.
