Die umwerfend dynamische und unkonventionelle Akkordeonistin, Vokalistin, Songwriterin, Soziologin und Filmemacherin stammt aus Salvador-Bahia im Nordosten Brasiliens. Mit langjähriger Erfahrung als Gast-Akkordeonistin bei weltweit bekannten KünstlerInnen wie Rosa Passos, Badi Assad, Chico Cesar und dem Symphonieorchester von Bahia veröffentlichte Lívia Mattos 2017 ihr erstes Album als Songwriterin. Vinha da Ida, ein Album mit ausgefallenen Arrangements und phantasievollen Texten, wurde von der Kritik für die spannende Fusion aus brasilianischen Wurzeln und globalen Rhythmen hoch gelobt. Nach ausgedehnten Tourneen in Europa, China und den USA folgte 2022 Apneia, eine Mischung aus Songs und Instrumentalstücken zum Thema der Atemlosigkeit unserer Zeit, darunter die preisgekrönte Single gleichen Namens. Ihr drittes, mit Spannung erwartetes Album “Verve” ist soeben erschienen und versteht sich als Abschluss der Trilogie. 

Über ihre Musikkarriere hinaus ist Lívia eine charismatische Frontfrau, die sich sämtlicher anderer Kunstformen wie Tanz, Video, Theater und Zirkus bedient. Ihre fesselnden Darbietungen verwandeln das Gewicht des Akkordeons in pure Leichtigkeit und bestechen durch ihre sprühende Kraft und Bühnenpräsenz. Mit ihrem Power-Trio, bestehend aus Akkordeon/Gesang, Tuba und Schlagzeug, ist Lívias Musik eine Fusion aus Originalität und Experimentierfreude, die ihr enormes instrumentales und kompositorisches Können unter Beweis stellt.
