Der stimmige Festival-Ausklang im Rahmen von Home Fado hat bei Salam Music mittlerweile Tradition. In der intimen Atmosphäre der Grätzlmarie im Herzen von Favoriten begegnen sich Kulinarik, Poesie und Musik an einem Abend, an dem Kunst und Kultur ihre verbindende Kraft entfalten. 

Zwischen den Gängen eines liebevoll zubereiteten Menüs erklingt das neue Projekt A Small Wish: Gedichte des afghanischen Dichters Ramin Mazhar, vertont und musikalisch erweitert von der iranischen Oud-Spielerin, Sängerin und Komponistin Avin Ahmadi. Gemeinsam mit dem Pianisten Reza Tavakoli entsteht ein fein verwobener Dialog aus gesprochenem Wort, Oud, Gesang und Klavier. 

Ramin Mazhar, der in Paris seine neue Heimat gefunden hat, schreibt aus der Erfahrung von Krieg, Exil und politischer Unterdrückung – seine Lyrik bewegt sich zwischen Melancholie, Widerstand und Hoffnung. Avin Ahmadis Musik ist tief in der persischen Tradition verwurzelt und zugleich offen für zeitgenössische Ausdrucksformen. In ihren eigens für dieses Projekt komponierten Liedern begegnen sich Poesie und Klang auf Augenhöhe und eröffnen einen Raum für Zuhören, Resonanz und gemeinsame Erfahrung. 

Home Fado ist ein Projekt des Vereins mosaic, der mit kunsttherapeutischen Ansätzen Frauen unterstützt, die ihre Heimat verlassen mussten und einschneidende Lebensereignisse erfahren haben. Kochen wird hier als kreativer Prozess verstanden, als gemeinsames, sinnstiftendes Tun, das Begegnung und Austausch ermöglicht. In diesem Geist verbindet der Abend Musik, Poesie und Kulinarik zu einem Ort der Nähe, des Respekts und der Solidarität.

The atmospheric festival finale as a collaboration with Home Fado has by now become a cherished tradition at Salam Music. In the intimate setting of Grätzlmarie, in the heart of Vienna’s Favoriten district, cuisine, poetry, and music come together for an evening in which art and culture unfold their power to connect. 

Between the courses of a lovingly prepared menu, the new project A Small Wish is presented: poems by Afghan poet Ramin Mazhar, set to music and further expanded by Iranian oud player, singer, and composer Avin Ahmadi. Together with pianist Reza Tavakoli, a finely woven dialogue emerges between spoken word, oud, voice, and piano. 

Now based in Paris, Ramin Mazhar writes from lived experiences of war, exile, and political oppression—his poetry moving between melancholy, resistance, and hope. Avin Ahmadi’s music is deeply rooted in Persian tradition while remaining open to contemporary forms of expression. In songs composed especially for this project, poetry and sound meet on equal footing, opening a space for listening, resonance, and shared experience. 

Home Fado is a project by the association mosaic, which supports women who have been forced to leave their home countries and have experienced profound life-changing events through art-therapeutic approaches. Cooking is understood here as a creative process, a collective, meaningful act that enables encounter and exchange. In this spirit, the evening brings together music, poetry, and cuisine to create a space of closeness, respect, and solidarity.
