Die Wiener Band CULK kündigt ihre große Herbsttour 2026 an und liefert damit den perfekten Rahmen für ihr mit Spannung erwartetes neues Album „Smogstar“, das am 4. September 2026 über Siluh Records erscheint.

Mit „Smogstar“ öffnen CULK ein neues klangliches Kapitel: roher, direkter und kompromissloser. Die Band orientiert sich stärker an der Soundästhetik der New Yorker Underground-Szene der 80er Jahre: eine Welt zwischen Lärm, Kunst und radikalem Ausdruck. Einflüsse von Noise-Rock-Pionieren wie Sonic Youth oder Swirlies treffen auf die Dringlichkeit von Bands wie Unwound und werden durch aktuelle Acts wie julie oder Blue Smiley weitergedacht.

Dieses „in-your-face“-Moment prägt auch die neuen Songs: weniger Distanz, mehr unmittelbare Energie, die sich in dichten Arrangements und eruptiven Dynamiken entlädt.
