From birds to butterflys and fish to plants we have been undertaking surveys in the area since 2013!On August 11th we will be undertaking one of our monthly plankton surveys on the estuary and we're inviting you to come and join in. There will be lots of opportunities for some close encounters with some of the incredible mini-species that live in our amazing river.We deploy the nets several times throughout the session so please feel free to join us for as long as you'd like. Be it ten minutes or two hours everyone is welcome. MGET staff will be on hand to answer any questions and tell you more about the project.We will have tables, field guides and microscopes set up where you can pop over and see for yourself what lives below the waves. During previous surveys we have recorded European bass, European eels, prawns, juvenile crabs and even two species of jellyfish!We will be setting up our microscopes on the promenade on the West Bank near to the old transporter bridge slipway so please come down and say hello!
