Event 1: Intro to Trail Navigation

No experience needed — just curiosity!

Start your journey here. Learn the basics of trail navigation in a supportive, beginner-friendly environment. Maps, compasses and simple techniques — nothing overwhelming. Move at your own pace, ask questions and leave feeling more comfortable exploring the trails independently.

Kit list: Trail runners or walking boots, water and snacks, waterproof coat, hat, gloves, non-cotton clothes, and extra layers

This course gives women of all fitness levels the chance to explore mountain navigation. We will not be running or fast hiking on the course.

Participant limit: Keeping groups small ensures everyone gets personalised guidance.

About Alicia

Alicia lives in the foothills of the stunning Wicklow Mountains, a range she’s explored for 20 years. Her background combines mountain running with a Mountain Leadership Qualification. She founded She Summits in 2019 and co-founded Trail Criú in 2023. Inclusive and supportive values are at the heart of her work on the mountains.
