"Threads of Pride" will showcase the work of local LGBTQIA+ artists while also leading a powerful community quilt-inspired project. Middle & high school GSA and Pride clubs, community members, and local groups across Kansas will contribute 3ft x 5ft quilt panels, sharing their stories through art. The quilt will be displayed throughout Wichita in June alongside Pride celebrations, amplifying the voices of LGBTQIA+ youth and the broader LGBTQIA+ community.

Curated by local gay artist & graphic designer Michael K Davenport and funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, this exhibition—created in partnership with The City of Wichita’s Division of Arts & Cultural Services—celebrates the rich and diverse experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals in Kansas.

Let’s close out Pride Month with joy, color, and connection!


At the exhibition’s close, quilt panels will be available for sale, donation, or auction, with proceeds benefiting local LGBTQIA+ charities. Parts of the quilt will be repurposed into lasting artworks, ensuring its impact continues.

This project thrives on community, collaboration, and connection. Join us in uplifting LGBTQIA+ artists, youth, and allies by following, sharing, and supporting this meaningful exhibition. ?
