- **Event Name**: Small Budget, Big Impact: Nonprofit Marketing That Moves People
- **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 03 Jun, 2026 at 11:30 am – Wed, 03 Jun, 2026 at 01:00 pm
- **Event Description**: Nonprofits are expected to show up like major brands—with a fraction of the budget, time, and team. So what actually works?

This panel brings together experienced nonprofit leaders and communicators to unpack how nonprofit marketing has evolved—and how to stay visible, relevant, and effective in a crowded, fast-moving landscape. From redefining what success looks like to building meaningful relationships with donors, we’ll explore how strategy, storytelling, and smart partnerships can amplify your mission without draining your resources.

Jordan Bani-Younes, Kansas Humane Society

Jordan Bani-Younes has always been drawn to animals of every kind, a passion that now fuels his work as Director of Marketing and Communications at the Kansas Humane Society. A graduate of Wichita State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, Jordan began his career in local news before finding the perfect blend of storytelling and advocacy in animal welfare. Today, he regularly appears on local broadcasts, highlighting pets in need of loving homes and helping connect them with the community. Deeply committed to the mission of KHS, Jordan uses his expertise in media to give every animal a voice and a second chance at a forever home. Outside of work, he enjoys going to the movie theater, being a father to two wonderful cats, Slinks & Jinx, and, whenever possible, stopping by the shelter to spend extra time with local pets.

Debra Fraser, KMUW

Debra believes in the power of information to shape our world for the better. Her ‘slogan’ since arriving in 2014, is “KMUW is here to share the stories of Wichita with Wichita and the world.” She knows that when media is used as a force for good, we can spark curiosity, foster understanding, and build bridges.

Debra started in public radio as a news intern in 1988 after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin and has been hooked on public radio ever since. She spent 25 years at Houston Public Radio learning the business from the ground up before becoming station manager. Her many years as a reporter and news director reinforced the importance of non-profit news and entertainment. It strengthened her conviction that public media, KMUW in particular, is a combination of community service, creativity, and trust. As news media in general dwindles, KMUW must stand even taller and maintain the public’s trust. It also requires a team of committed, innovative, and creative people who believe in the spirit of community service.

It is Debra’s job to ensure that Wichita’s NPR station is well represented at the local, regional, and national levels, while also providing her talented team with the tools to create great content. She serves the community as president of the Old Town Association, an ex officio member of the Downtown Wichita Board, a member of the SSMID Advisory Board, Vice-Chair of the Kansas Public Broadcasting Council, and a member of the WSU Publications Board. She encourages all KMUW staff to volunteer for non-profits to help make Wichita even better.
Outside the office, Debra focuses on her three rescue pups, who are a handful!

Kindra Goertzen, United Way

Kindra Goertzen serves as Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications at United Way of the Plains, where she leads the organization’s marketing strategy and brand storytelling to inspire community action around the most pressing challenges facing our neighbors in south-central Kansas. During her nearly 20 years with the organization, she has held multiple roles within the department, honing her expertise in developing compelling, integrated campaigns across print, social media, web, email, advertising, and video.
