◆ Draw inspiration from WAM’s collection in this program led by artist Kat Smalley. Designed for all skill levels, no artistic ability or experience is necessary. Kat Smalley, a ceramic artist based in Wichita since 2015, teaches a variety of art-looking and art-making classes for people of all ages at City Arts and the Wichita Art Museum. 

◆ Supplies will be provided. Guests are welcome to bring their favorite sketching materials, but please no pens to keep art safe. 

◆ About Kat Smalley ◆

Kat received a Bachelor of Fine Art in studio arts with an emphasis in ceramics from Wichita State University, where she is a current student in the Master of Arts in Arts Leadership and Management program. Kat has spent the last five years teaching in both exhibitions and studios, creating meaningful experiences with art for early learners, youth, teens, and adults in the Wichita area. She began working at WAM in 2022 as Art Start instructor; now she oversees that program and more as Gallery and Studio Programs Specialist. In Kat’s ceramics practice, she takes inspiration from the whimsical qualities of the natural world.
