Second of Silents with Kaylee Mansfield: THE SHEIK

Tallgrass is excited to introduce our newest film series at the Emily Bonavia Tallgrass Film Center, Second of Silents! Hosted by local silent film enthusiast Kaylee Mansfield, this series will be featured on the second Sunday of every month and celebrate the actors, actresses, directors, and producers of the silent era. During Second of Silents programs, you can expect an exploration of the featured film and it's key players, it's social impact at the time of production, and it's enduring cultural relevance. Then... grab your popcorn and enjoy the film! We hope to see you there as we bring the silent legends to the Wichita community.

Synopsis: "Sheik Ahmed desperately desires feisty British socialite Diana, so he abducts her and carries her off to his luxurious tent-palace in the desert. The free-spirited Diana recoils from his passionate embraces and yearns to be released. Later, allowed to go into the desert, she escapes and makes her way across the sands..."
