Crafted Traditions Family Day | Turtle Teachings

Experience hands-on learning and cultural connection at Crafted Tradition Family Days—a new monthly series at the Mid-America All-Indian Museum. Each event highlights a traditional Native craft, story, or seasonal practice through interactive activities designed for all ages. From art-making to cultural demonstrations, families are invited to explore Native heritage in a fun and meaningful way.

Admission is $10 per person for ages 4 and up, or $30 for a family of four, and includes full museum access. Payment will be collected at the door, but we ask that you RSVP online in advance so we have ample supplies available.​

Celebrate the cultural symbolism of turtles in Native traditions with a day of hands-on fun for all ages! Families will get to create their own crochet stuffed turtles and explore how turtles appear in Native stories and teachings.

From 11 AM to 1 PM, the Kansas Wildlife Exhibit will be on site with live turtles and other native animals—so guests can meet the real-life inspiration behind our activities!
