An Infinite Container is a solo exhibition by Lindsay Lion Lord. This show marks the end of her MFA program at Concordia University in Montreal, in Fibres & Material Practices. With this work, Lord addresses themes of death and disability, empire collapse, and the importance of hope and community building as resistance.
Lindsay Lion Lord (b. 1985) is a neurodivergent art witch based in Wichita, KS. She holds a BFA in Visual Art from The University of Kansas and is an MFA candidate in the Fibres & Material Practices program at Concordia University in Montreal, QC (2025). The current focus of her research hovers around the intersections of science, magic, religion and the body. As a legally blind person with synesthesia, Lord seeks to translate her sensory experience of the world while addressing issues of trauma and healing, disability and death, systems of care, and systems of control. Lord works from a feminist, anti-oppression and disability justice lens. Her practice is rooted in drawing, and she invites the Sun (which is a star) to collaborate with her through making cyanotypes. Her work most recently finds its form in dye work, quilting, weaving and felting, and has been shown in Canada and the US.
Message from Lindsay:
Thrilled to announce that my MFA thesis show is happening at long last! I’m sad that it won’t be taking place in Montreal- I miss the people in my program everyday. It feels strange to be doing this so far from where my program is located. However, I’m deeply grateful that my supervisor Aaron McIntosh and Concordia have offered me this accommodation in light of my retinitis pigmentosa diagnosis. I’m also honored and excited to hold my show in my hometown of Wichita, KS, where I have been embraced and supported during a very difficult time, which has meant so much to me. If you are in the area, please come out and see me Dec 5th at Fisch Haus for the opening, 6-10 pm. This work will be on view through the end of January, and I’ll be announcing other open hours and events in the coming weeks.🧡
