OT and COTA's will receive a certificate at the end of the symposium certifying their attendance. PT's and PTA's should claim only those hours actually spent in the education program.Symposium Purpose StatementThe Annual Wichita Sports Medicine Symposium is a meeting of multidisciplinary health care providers specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. The goal is to address issues related to the treatment and/or prevention of injuries sustained by physically active clients. The annual symposium is an opportunity to raise awareness of sports injuries and to support the healthcare professionals. Their goal in practicing orthopedic/sports medicine is to decrease the frequency of injuries, complications and speed healing. End result is ultimately to enhance the quality of life for the physically active client. The agenda of the symposium is to provide the sports medicine healthcare provider with current information regarding the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of injuries in the physically active client.Course HoursRegistration begins Friday at 12:30pm. The Friday symposium begins at 1:00 p.m and concludes at 6:30 p.m. Saturday symposium check in begins at 7:30 a.m with the symposium starting at 8:00 am and concludes at 2:00 pm.Confirmation and CancellationsConfirmation of registration will be sent via e-mail or fax within 3 days of receipt. If you have not received a confirmation within 5 days of the seminar please call Chris Fleming 316-409-3692. Cancellations must be received at least 5 working days before the symposium for refund less 15%. For cancellations received later, a refund less 45% will be given.
